Physical Therapy
The goal of physical therapy at the Alabama Fibromyalgia Center is to improve and maintain the physical ability of the patient with Fibromyalgia. This is accomplished though one-on-one treatments with the physical therapist. Individual treatment exercises are developed and taught to the patient for therapeutic conditioning. This involves heat, ice, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, massage (both manual and aqua massage), exercise, and stretching. When deemed appropriate, pool therapy is prescribed to obtain maximum therapeutic benefit.
